Wave Packet Dynamics: Femtosecond time-resolved experiments in molecular beams

Gustav Gerber

Abstract:

The real-time dynamics of multiphoton ionization and fragmentation of sodium molecules have been studied in femtosecond pump-probe molecular beam experiments. In particular dispersion and revival of vibrational wavepackets and coherent control experiments at moderate laser intensities are discussed. First results on molecular above threshold ionization (ATI) and dissociation (ATD) obtained in strong laser fields are presented.
