Sub-Riemannian geometry, sub-Riemannian manifolds, contact sub-Riemannian structures, Pontryagin maximum principle, abnormal minimizers, sub-Riemannian and abnormal geodesics, sub-Riemannian rigid body, sub-Riemannian control and optimal control problems, Finsler spaces of constant flag curvature, Finsler-Einstein metrics, Finsler geodesic flows, diffusion on Finsler manifolds, rigidity theorems, etc.

PLACE AND TIME

The Symposium will be held at the Institute of PhysicsNicholas Copernicus UniversityTorun, Poland,  beginning Friday, June 14, and ending Tuesday, June 18, 2002. The annual meeting of the Editorial Board of the  Reports on Mathematical Physics  will take place during the conference.


THE PROGRAMME

The programme comprises 45-minute invited lectures, 20-minute oral presentations, and poster sessions. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to select contributions for oral presentation.


FEE AND ACCOMMODATION

The Symposium fee covering materials, lunch tickets, social programme and the Proceedings is EUR 140 for participants plus EUR 70 for accompanying persons (EUR 210 plus EUR 105 after May 10). There is no conference fee for ROMP Editorial Board members. For lodging information consult the registration form.


PROCEEDINGS

The Proceedings will be published as a special issue of ROMP. Materials (preferably in TeX) should be submitted by September 1, 2002.


REGISTRATION DEADLINE

The deadline for the registration  is May 31, 2002.
